New Rules

There are no major changes in rules, yet a few have been or are being adjusted and will be finalized at the time of the meeting.

Coed/Mixed Leagues Structuring

For the past four years, I have been working on making the Coed/Mixed leagues more even with teams that match up with each other. There have been some lop-sided games in the past due to a powerhouse team playing against a beginner, or the We are just out here having fun teams. What makes it worse is the powerhouse team thinks they are just one of the other teams, but when they get ahead by 15 runs they begin to slow down their gameplay by taking one base at a time. This is not fair to the other team, You are not doing them any favors. So I have been working on restructuring the Coed/Mixed Leagues.

Thursday nights are no longer D1 Coed/Mixed play. With only 4 to 5 teams playing the last four years on that night, and a few teams that should not have been on that night, the players are tired of playing the same teams four times in a season. It is time to mix it up and get new competition.

One of the teams is moving to Friday because of their casual game play that did not match the intensity and skills of the other three teams. Another team wanted to play Friday because the men play fast-pitch on Thursdays and often had to forfeit.

Is the President giving them special favors?
I have been trying to get a few of the Wednesday night, as well as, some Friday night, teams to play on Thursday seeing they would be better matched up, but for various reasons that would not work for them. Since that plan/idea/project was a bust, the next solution was to disband the D1 League on Thursdays. There were only four teams in the league, and in actuality, there were only three teams that competed against each other evenly. And they were, as I mentioned before, getting tired of playing each other so often. And there was no way we were going to have a three-team league.

The managers of the two remaining Thursday night teams understood that they either play Wednesday or Friday night or they do not play at all because a two-team league was NEVER going to happen. And we are not going to wait to see if any new teams sign up for D1 this season, which we did the past three years and there were none.

New Coed/Mixed League Structure for 2018 Seasons

• Wednesday is D2 Medium play Coed/Mixed league. Probable teams: 10
• Thursday is open for a (D4/D3) Lower/Beginner/Casual Coed/Mixed league. Probable teams: 5+

• Friday is D3 Lower/Beginner/Casual Coed/Mixed league. Probable teams: 8+
